Over the past few months, a group of film makers and myself from the Philadelphia area began working on a web series that came to be called "newVHS".
Each episode is a short "clip" from a fictional Television show, feature film, made-for-TV movie or commercial from the newVHS universe we've slowly created.
Our most recent episode, "The Season Finale of Valley Boys" depicts re-occurring characters Murphy and Carlisle in the final episode of the successful early 90s TV show, Valley Boys, in this episode the Valley Boys finally catch up to Murphy. Being film students, we love the process of creating a universe, allowing submissions for multiple videos, and exercising a real reason to make content of the same theme. If anything, it's been a huge growing process- but it's no where close to being over. We're actually shooting a handful of "tapes" this month.
Each episode is shot in full HD on a panasonic AF100, with more or less professional production practices, then cropped and transfered to VHS, then off to the internet. We like to think they're pretty funny and entertaining. We have 18 videos right now, why don't you tell us what you think?

Also, we have a Vimeo Page
