News Promo all shot qt 12db at night

Pretty basic setup for this promo. Just me a producer and a grip. I had the producer and grip hand hold the two LED cool lights and move with me when we walked. Set the camera to 12db as recommended by F3 users here and rocked and rolled. The F3 really performs in low light. The camera captures detail I couldn't see with my own eyes and its clean! A real joy to shoot with.
The shots with emergency vehicles arn't staged. I saw the ambulance coming down the street and told the reporter to act like its breaking news. He nailed it. We got a good laugh out of that one. Then we ran down the street where the fire tuck and ambulance was and just started to riff. This was pretty fun I have to admit.
I did go a little to warm but that was the look I wanted. When I went to edit it was to much and kind of screwed my skin tones so color correcting took longer than usual. I don't usually shoot with a look but for some reason I felt I wanted to. Fricken artists! I really enjoyed using the F3 a lot. So much so I'm renting it again in a couple of weeks to shoot another version of this spot.

looks great Erik, much like the af100 with cp2 shoot you won the award for. The only thing I "didn't like" and this is nit picking, is sometimes the LED's were a but strong for my taste and flat, but that's me thinking as a DP in a narrative scenario. So i'm thinking of backing away the light and using it more angled for shaping lol. But yeh it certainly represents "news" coverage which is the look i'm sure you went for. Again, great work.

Really looks great and so so clean for 12db. Good job. What lenses were you using?

Thanks Sparky.
main lens with all the sweet bokeh was the Zeiss CP.2 85mm a couple 11-16 pl duclos and the tail shot Red 17-50.

the F3 is a great camera and I'm renting again Thursday for another promo. at night at 12db it blows me away. I wish the rental had slog. I want to try it.

I hear you and for news promos like these I can't light that way. I had a grip and a producer working the lights while I directed and shot. Nethier of them ever worked like this before and i was constanly asking them to raise the light higher. We moved pretty fast shooting this and your right it was a tad strong. Overall I'm happy with the spot and enjoyed using the F3.
