probably 18" should be good enough, ive got 18 or 20" rails, ( i honestly dont remember)they are pretty long, but i like the extra rail space, just in case, and makes the HVX look like a weapon of some sort. LOL

New pics up at hysonfilms. The follow focus looks to have included a marking plate now (or whatever it's called) and man that X matte box looks sweet. If this website doesn't open soon I'm gonna jump off a cliff.

I just ordered the base plate and rods of various lengths.
Looking back, it does seem s if the zucuto base plate offers the ability to mount other devices (it has mounting screw holes in the side, unlike the Hyson)

You can get either with different length rods.
I got the 12 inch and a second set of 22 inch rods.

The X matte box looks very , very good, and you can get that made to order, and possibly customize it. He is offering a special discount off the regular $620 price, but it takes 4 weeks to be made.

Other than 2 rotating filter holders and one stationary one, I am not sure what else I would want. The X matte box has said holders.
