newbie fs100 picture profile question:

i'm using ver2 on my fs100.

is six still the maximum number of picture profiles that can be stored?

l was under the impression that with the ver2 software update more than six pp could be stored.

any info would be appreciated.

be well.

Hi Rob,

Yes, 6 is the number of PPs stored on the camera, but you can of course, store any amount you want on an SD card/PC, and load the ones you want to use onto the camera.

Use the menu option Picture Profile ¨Load ¨or Save¨to move files between the camera and the card - i.e. on a blank card, save one by one the standard PPs to the card, you can then create in camera the new ones you want to use, and save those (being careful to note the file numbers) - you can the save the whole folder to your PC as a back up, and copy to other cards as required.

The only problem, as stated on the other post, is keeping track of whats what - I also use a numbers file on my iPhone to store the details of what is loaded in the camera.

Well, with 99 camera profiles, 6 Picture Profiles available to each... How does 594 profiles sound?

You probably need four:

1 - A profile to use outdoors on a sunny day (as much DR as you can get)

2 - A profile to use outdoors on an overcast day or indoors in office lighting (reduced DR)

4 - A profile to use for chromakey (no sharpening, Rec709 gamma)

5 - A profile to use when you can't decide (also known as PP-Off)

Just to remember that when you store a profile on your SD, you're storing everything about the camera: the button assignments, the picture profiles, even the white balance setting. Such a shame the FS100 is unable to name the PPs or the Camera settings...

Matt,

Please can you expand a bit your comments? ¨button settings, white balance¨? I didn't realise that!, I thought only the info contained in the PP setting was saved - hoping for enlightenment!

Thanks, Paul
