Newbie A7s transcode question.

Coming from canon world where I'd transcode w/ mpeg streamclip. Want to TC to prores so I can edit in FCP7, but streamclip doesn't like the XAVC-S files. It is a pretty old version.

Any thing like it that will do the job & any tips tricks re metadata? Any help offered would most appreciated.

Didn't use FCP7 for long time but I think that might work.

No that don't work. Says unsupported media. Is there a third party app that allows xavc-s to be transcoded to prores so that it works in FCP7…anyone?

I suppose the ninja star might be an option. No need to transcode and you get 4:2:2.

Yeah in the long term an external recorder is an option, waiting for the shogun. But for now is there any other way? Surely someone here is cutting A7s footage on FCP7?
