Brand new to the HVX and am having lots of fun with it.

1. When shooting in 60i SD, does this mean that the frame rate is twice as fast as when shooting at 30?

2. Anyone know if anything different needs to be done differently when shooting in 60i SD when capturing into Final Cut Pro?

1) the "i" stands for interlaced -- 60i is 30 even fields and 30 odd fields. Here's progressive vs. interlaced in a nutshell:

What I meant by anything different was, in the past I shot video on DV cameras with at 30fps. I have never used 60i. Does the fact that I will be capturing video shot at 60i make any difference? Or can I just use Device Control: FireWire NTSC Basic and capture?

That will be fine for capture. Its 30 FPS, but as DV is inherently 60i its 60 fields. Even if you choose 30P in DV mode, it will still store it over 60i.

So that option should be fine.
