New York City DVXUSER Crew Presents: Katrina

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say that Katrina really grows on me each time I watch it. I liked it the first time, but the cool thing is it really holds up well with repeated viewings. It's quite exceptional and I am most impressed with how well you pulled off the noir feel. :)

Only criticism I have is the bedroom scene still feels drawn out, but I can tolerate it. Is it "deliberate pacing"?

Kudos once again. :)

thanks Elton. A new cut is coming and when it's done I will put it up in the User Films section.

thanks Garyin,

I am actually just now finishing up the final FINAL cut and will put it in the user films section within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for checking us out!

Zensar lenses

I know this is an old thread - very nice stills, by the way! - but I wanted to add to it, for possible (?) clarification..unless I'm just wrong. I figure someone else doing a search might end up here and maybe this information can be of value to someone. I was trying to get more information about Zensar lenses (little to nothing online) and I stumbled upon your first page where the lens is listed as part of the gear used on your project. From what I've managed to dig up, I believe Zensar is not a Russian lens, but rather, a Japanese lens. I did a trademark search and found that in 1980, Tamron Co. Ltd of Kita-Ku, Tokyo, registered the brand name out of New York, in the United States. Putting 2 and 2 together, it would appear that Tamron - a lens maker, of course, as we all know - registered a brand called Zensar under the category of "goods and services" with a description of "interchangeable Lenses for 35mm Single Lens Reflex Cameras." I believe that there may be a Russian lens maker with a similar name but not Zensar. Please correct me if I am mistaken! Here is the link to the trademark search and information: http://www.trademarkia.com/zesnar-73281205.html . I hope this helps someone! BTW, I have a 28mm 2.8 Zensar which takes quite nice, sharp, snappy images.
