New wireless mics?

Well, mine may be faulty, but as I posted in the sticky, even an old G2 and the old version of the Sony had triple the range of the new Sony in my same location. I'm just not willing to hassle with sending it back and getting a replacement. And I had similar results with the plug on transmitter, so maybe the problem is in the Receiver. Anyway, I'm upgrading the lav on my G2 and using it as my go-to unit, with my old Sony as a backup.

BTW, I am meeting Alex again tomorrow with the unit to record some samples before I send it back.

I don't think your system is faulty at all. As Rick pointed out, JNO's test was short on due diligence to pick clear frequencies for the comparison. The G2/3 systems will drop out constantly if running on a cluttered frequency. If you pay attention to the second video, where he demos only the Sony for distance, he rides away in mostly-line-of-sight (though there is a car partially in the way), and the range seems only slightly better than what we got at my office yesterday. Further, there's really no difference in range in his test between the low and high transmission levels, so nothing gained by moving to higher power transmission.

We'll take some time to coordinate frequencies tomorrow and make sure that we're running on clear channels with each system.
