Hey everyone....

I'm finishing up on a New Action/Horror flick called: "LYCANCOLONY".
Please checkout the website/teaser at: www.lycancolony.com

Direct Download link to Teaser: http://witsendpro.com/images/lcT3.wmv:thumbsup:

We will be having a fullscreen Primere locally and a few other halloween (smaller screen) Primeres around NH:)

A DVD will be available soon after the Primere.
We have been getting great local support in this process of Indie filmmaking.
And we have all learned alot!
We shot it all in New Hampshire, used Local Actors and Musicians (except one) on the Soundtrack from New England.
It has been quite a rewarding group effort:)

Please check it out!:)

Rob:)

Rob333,

congrats on finishing your movie and i hope your screenings go well!

trailer: some cool-looking visuals there. one tip, (this could just be me) i would remove the "Comedy/Action/Horror" part from your description above. when i see the word "comedy" i dont take the trailer seriously. the trailer plays serious to me. i didnt really see anything obviously funny so it just kind of made me wonder stuff like: ok the two people shooting their guns in front of the blue/green screen background - done for laughs? hmmmm anyhow cool looking trailer, keep us updated! i guess im just saying think about how you want to market it and maybe make another trailer focusing on more of the general feel of the movie if humor is a big part...

website: only thing i didnt like about the intro to the site was the growling sound being played three times...

nice job!

Thanx:) I Changed discription:) Teaser truely doesn't show the Dark Comedy" aspect of it.
It isn't a "Campy" movie either. But a "fun" action flick. Not just gore for the sake of gore:)lol And different kinds of Werewolves...not just one at thew end like most horror flicks.

Funny thing you picked up on the bluescreen clip:) that was done just for the teaser to incorperate those two main actors (at the time not filmed yet)into it for the sake of the teaser.
New "Trailer" will be up by end of month, with alot more detail.

Hmmm... the growling is suppossed to go on....

The trailer won't load, just sits there saying I have to wait for it to buffer... FOREVER!

Oh no...that has gone now, and I am left with a green road sign..? HELP!

Seen it now.

Trailer wise, it seems a little manic, hard to tell what is going on exactly. There is some nice bits and some not so nice bits in there.

The wolf transformation shot looks awesome, but some of the different grading and "wolf vision" (??) makes it a little unclear what is happening. Also, I really dislike the singing at the start, it is too much like a song rather than a film score.

The web site looks really good, I like that main forest shot! Is that a painting or a photoshop effect on a photo or what - it looks great! It would be nice to have that shot with maybe a subtle werewolf in amongst the trees, so you didn't notice it for a second but then saw it off in the mist... just an idea.

Good work, and best of luck with it!

Thanx MMM:) it is just a "Teaser" right now. I am working on cutting an actual Trailer, that I will post in a couple of days:) Yes, tried to just "Tease" with as many clips I had at the time with almost all cast members...(there are alot !)lol

Yeah, "wolf vision":)lol
Actually the werewolves can hone into the fear of thier prey. The more afraid the prey is, the more the prey's heart pumps, blood rushes and adrenaline surges... the Werewolves in this film can almost track thier prey through walls by thier prey's heartbeart.
(They can sense your fear!:)

I am supporting many local music performers on the soundtrack. What you are hearing at begining is part of a song by ROSE, that is in the movie. The the band H.A.Y.W.I.R.E. for the rest of theaser.(More about them on website).
The main shot on website is a clip taken with the DVX100, then layered in Photoshop.

Thanx for input, I appreciate it all:)
MORE TO COME!:)

Look forward to hearing more!

How exactly did you get that effect in photoshop? Layering with what?

Many thanks...

Just color gradeing, tinting, etc///then layering the other images, wolf teeth, as a transparency on top.working on new trailer

 Ahhhhhh... the "B" word!:)lol

I never wanted a "Budget", what I needed, I MADE or borrowed, but I never Stole!:)lol
Well; this has been called a "No budget " project.
I wrote the script (took a year) having in mind of what I could already do.
"Cost Effectively".
All actors worked for the love/art and experience of it...a few supplied thier own wardrobe. (Some more zealously than others)
I wrote/directed/Shot/edited/color graded/Audio mastered all the footage.
I also built my own camera cranes/dolly/steadycam devices.
I even spent a year building anamatronic werewolf heads, suits , makeup and face/hand appliances.

There are 4 different "Styles" of Lycanthorpes (werewolves) in this flick. NO CGI creatures in the film! Some (sparingly)CGI bullet hits, gun blasts, smoke, etc. to "enhance" things were used>( which I did as well:)
Other than that, one of the actors, a close friend of mine, did some minimal photoshop images, etc.

It has been a labor of love for all of us.

Not including My beloved DVX100 Camera, My personal blood/sweat/tears.... the flick only cost 'MAYBE': $3000.00 and change. (if that!)

I hope you will ALL enjoy what can still be done for little coin and a lot of PASSION/IMAGINATION!!!

Rob333,

Your story is very inspirational. I truly believe that spending plenty of time in pre-production is key to pulling off a great no-budget feature, especially if you're doing most of the work yourself. If you own your own camera and lighting/ sound gear and are doing the editing yourself, and you write your script with available locations and actors in mind, there's no reason you can't pull off a feature for under $5k.

I'm looking forward to seeing your finished movie! Congrats on getting it finished!

Thanx ...Very true; Christopherthomas and thanx to all that have responded so far with advice, comments and good wishes.
All locations were available and offered to us, free of charge. (woods/bars/houses/cemetery/meeting hall, etc....)
And the responce and connections we have made through this process has been great!
BTW;
I will be updating this week...:PLEASE STAY TUNED!

Congrats on the feature man. I am editing my feature in which I also wrote, directed, shot, chopped, and lit. It's alot of work, but when you get to the finish line ,it is all worth it. Looking good man!

Currently seeking larger scale distribution. We will be offering a DVD version soon after local Primere(s) on the website.
The DVD will sport alot of EXTRAS, including a complete soundtrack of all the musical performers, a couple of music videos I shot relating to the movie and behind the scenes detailed look of the making of LYCAN COLONY and of course:"outtakes".
