New Website

Hey, Nick. I'm diggin' the website. I don't know why people would come to your thread and view, but offer no critique. I really like the site. It's informative and professional and I like the car emblem logo on the front. I'll check it out more in detail here in a few, but good job.

I like the banner at the top, with what looks like a family, but is there any particular reason why that's there instead of a banner with artwork from a film you did?

Also, you can go to your preferences an insert a link to your site from the tool bar. That way people can just click on it and go right to it.

On the banner, I am going to take out that photo and replace it with a montage of stills from a few of my movies. I do think the home page may be a little overcrowded win graphics though. Do you think I should cut down the number of graphics there?

Nope, I think everything looks good. After looking at it closer, I realized how young you are. You seem to have a couple of great parents that are real supportive and for you to be so young doing what you're doing. . .my hat's off to you.

I think if you put a montage of stills, maybe even with the title of the film in there it would be cool or just just the still themselves. Other than that, I don't think you'd need to change a thing - maybe add info. about what some of the pics are, like the film festival ones and stuff.

Good job though. Keep doin' your thing.

dude, take off the "competition" tab on royermedia.com. First of all it's tacky, second, it markets you as "cheap" and it gives free advertising to your competitors, drawing away your business. You don't always have to be the most affordable, just get the word out, charge a fair price and let your work speak for itself.

Okay it's gone now. I just put that part on yesterday but since decided it was a bad idea. Do you think I should list package prices on the website or have potential customers call or email for more information? Also, what would you recommend replacing the current photo-placeholders with? Anything else I should add?

Thanks.

Why in user films?

It shouldn't be. I made this thread on my first day on DVX User and put it in user films because I didn't know where else to put it. Maybe one of the mods can move it to the proper thread. I'm still not sure exactly where it should go.

Probably the Café! :)

Welcome!

Thanks. I have been here for about a month now and like it much better than DVinfo, where I used to go. With a lot more users, it is much easier to get a quick reply here and there isn't those restrictions where you can only talk about their sponsors. DVXUser rules!

Nick - Nice site. Clean and easy to navigate. Although I would strongly suggest having the name of your company somewhere on the Welcome page. All you have is "RF". But your other pages say "Royer Films".

Good luck! :)

I will put Royer Films on the main page of the website in the near future when I make Breakaway one of the small items. I was asking what pictures I should use for the Royer Media website though. It is at www.royermedia.com or you can go to the main page of www.royerfilms.com and there is a link to it. Thanks for the feedback.

Everytime I click a link, the whole page refreshes. I find that very annoying in websites, but maybe that's just me. I'm not sure of the structure of your site, but it can most of the time be changed fairly easily.

The only thing I'd change is having pictures of all your friends/family if it's to be a professional site (business related).

Just a thought,

Kegan

I am going to have professional pictures taken later this month or next for the site. The ones on there now are place-holders for a while. I did the site with iWeb/Photoshop so I don't think I can change that the whole thing refreshes.

Okay I got it updated now. Still don't have the professional pictures taken yet, but I now have ones that are relevant.
