Hi all,

I am a videographer based in Melbourne Australia.

Would appreciate some feedback on my new website

http://www.philbrown.com.au

Have quite a few video clips on the site including a music video of Lindsy Buckland shot on the DVX100 last week.

Also samples of customer interviews, a couple of corporate videos (mix of photos, graphics and video) and some conference footage(shot on older cameras unfortunately).

There is a great joke video on the site - see if you can find it.

Your comments (and any leads for additonal work) welcome...

Phil

okay Phil the only thing that bothers me is the really bad stock photo of the film reel and dvx. Real bad compression. You might to add something maybe higher quality. It would make it more professional looking as far as design layout. I haven't check any clips on it yet but will soon. Other than that the site is easy to navigate and the animated flash stuff is pretty decent. Oh, I like your porno type music running in the background.. Kool!

Thanks for the advice - was trying to kep the speed up to max - but it could be much better. Will change it tomorrow.

Cheers.

Okay, looking at the site. I'm a minimalist. Less is more.....granted I didn't do flash for my site, because it takes too freaking long. :) But there just seems to be alot going on because everything is so big.

Just my opinion, figured I'd hand it out.

Remove some of the moving background images. Looks fine, though slow on my laptop.
Saying that mine's massive...website that is.

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks for the feedback

Have simplified many aspects of the site and improved the graphics.

The site was initially built with free flashbuilder tools (very easy) and hosted by them for free but it had poxy banner ads.

I upgraded it for $7/month to their hosting option (30GB) with the pro-version of their toolset which gives more layout templates and removed the banner ads.

Built my own flash pics with Adobe After effects to replace the provided template pics - very simple. The entire site took about 6 hrs to put together.

Altogether - very happy for $84/year.

Once again, appreciate your help and hope you enjoyed the clips.

Phil

the flash was very nice. The photos were a bit pixelated, and the blue seemed to clash, esp in contrast to the badass flash intro. I'd quiet down the blue main page and maybe make the music a longer loop, for you want to keep ppl at your site. nice job!
