New vegas 12?

Any card based upon the nVidia GTX 660 Ti chipset is a good buy right now

I just noticed that this chipset requires a PCI Express 3.0 compatible motherboard, so be careful when ordering.

It looks like the card to get for PCI Express 2.0 motherboards are cards based upon the GeForce GTX 560 Ti chipset.

Have been away from cutting for a while and of course come back and 2 versions have gone by. I saw that the "stabilize" feature I have in 10 was either degraded or made worse to use in 11, so is the stabilize in 12 like 11 or did they go back to something more like 10 or is it different altogether? I'm probably going to keep with 10 until I re-do this feature edit because the stabilize is the reason I'm recutting (massive chunks of it had been migrated over to Apple Motion to stabilize before, degrading the files in transit). I am excited to see they made it solid 64 and people say 12 is very stable. Has it be basically rewritten?

Hard to tell if it has been rewritten (I went from 10 to 12).

V12 is reasonably steady under Windows 8 - but you can get to where it needs to be re-loaded.

If you are viewing a sequence sometimes when you click on pause or stop it goes to "not responding" and will not recover.

I have been trying to track this down. Could be a problem with W8 or with Vegas 12.

Yeah, I was excited about 12 but I've heard about stability issues keeping folks on earlier versions. I guess I'll stick with 9- By the way, the stabilization in 10 was from ProDad's Mercali, which you can actually download as a plugin for any other version of Vegas. Their newer version is supposed to be better than the tools that were included with Vegas 10.

it's funny how V9 still outperforms V12. i'm rendering a 30 sec clip that's taking over 2 hours to render in V12....sheesh !!!!

must be some render settings i'm not doing correctly. it seems to do everything faster but render.

Turn off GPU acceleration?
I recall hearing something about Vegas' acceleration using ONLY the GPU (as opposed to Adobe's Mercury Playback GPU acceleration, which works to suppliment the CPU). So if your GPU processes slower than your CPU, using acceleration will actually take longer than just CPU rendering!

The acceleration can really help if someone has a very fast video card.
