I just got my own HMC151 and have a few questions. I hope someone can help me out with these:
1. This European HMC151 Pal model is able to shoot 25P and 24P. The manual tells me I can easily switch from 50Hz to 59.9Hz and shoot in 24P (and 30P + 60i). It also mentions that the 24P mode is native recording and the 25P records over 50i. My first thought is: I better shoot in 24P as that gives me native recording. Is that a smart choice? Post will be in FCP and we can easily drop it on a 24P timeline, but is it a good idea to shoot 24P in a European Pal 25P workflow? Does setting the camera to 59.9Hz and shooting in 24P make the footage ntsc?
2. Is it possible to transfer directly from the camera to an external HD? If so, to any external HD?
3. Scene file question: the Master pedestal on the HMC can be set from -100 to +100, where the Master pedestal on the DVX can be set from -15 to +15, does this mean -100 equals -15? On the DVX I always used -6, what's the equivalent on the HMC?
