Hello All,

I should start by saying I am a new video person in general, so I don't know all the proper terminology yet.

I bought an af100 with the 14-140mm kit lens, hoping to get out of the 5D era into the new. I was minutes away from buying a Red One when the sales guy said stick with the af100, it will do the same exact thing.

So! I tampered with the red before, and I must say that even though I have no clue what I am doing, it made me look like I been doing this for years. When I bought the af100, it made me look like, well not pro.

I know the optics take a huge part in look, but after reviewing videos with cp2 lenses, something is still missing. Everything seems fast, sharp, quick, something I didn't experience with the Red. I have followed bits of advice to get this as close to film, but still no dice (1/48@24p), it doesn't seem that smooth.

Is it optics? Is it something special about the Red that I can't get with the af100(besides the obvious 4k)? I shoot with the same dolly and equipment with the af100 as I did with the red, maybe I'm slowly going crazy.
