Hi all,

Our new feature film trailer is up on YouTube! If you have seen or followed any of the other posts and maybe even watched an earlier version - you'll see that I do read and listen to the advice from others! Doesn't mean I always follow it - but I do take it into account!

Anyway, this is a micro budget, EX1 feature film - as we start to find ways to get it out there, I'll do my best to share that experience and any lessons I learn along the way.

Between these five guys, you can pretty much see my entire crew right here!

Here the trailer - YouTube's HD version - fullscreen and loud is best :)

Hey! Hold up...I know I'm not photogenic enough and look pretty lame generally in set photos but dang...I was there :) (At least for part of the shoot)

Definitely can't wait, will have an update for you soon on Battle as well and I WILL come over some time as I want to check it all out.

Keep it going,

Martin

Yeah - where the hell were you?!

That's why it says "pretty much my entire crew"! We actually had about 20 different people work on it - but pretty much like the pics show - they rotated in and out - the joys of no budget filmmaking! We may have hit as many as 5 or 6 at one time, but on many scenes it was either me and Atilla or me and Raphael

Here's one with Martay! See ... you are pretty! And I'll be thrilled for you to work on any film I ever get to do and just as thrilled to work on yours!

Can't wait to see what you guys are doing with BATTLE!

Good call Stan!

hahaha - so true! Dan is actually our gaffer extraordinaire (in my first film he's listed as "The American Crew"!)... we lost our "Romo" and with his curly hair he was my only and last desperate choice! Since he has bright red hair - he was less than thrilled!

That is actually pretty funny - our sound man for the day, our grip for the day, and our director making up our gaffer to play a missing Hispanic actor we used earlier in the shoot!

And you only had one job for this movie! Of course you made up for it on CREED! and all your own flicks!

Looks good. I would say the only thing I would fix would be the cocking of the shotgun needs some other kind of foley sound. Just sounds like an airsoft gun or possibly cocking it without any ammo inside.

For me personally I think you showed too much, but I would definitely see it.

Thanks so much! It is just the one camera - we had two - but usually no one to run it and I ended up dropping and breaking it during the chase scene :)

We also used a small monitor sometimes - though it really ate the batteries we had pretty quickly so it didn't get much use. I built a small hood for the view finder - impossible to see outside with out it in bright light. Most of the movie is actually natural light and staging for light with deep blocking.

It's a great camera - my plan for the next is to use one of the DSLR's and the stock EX1 - I do really comprehensive post and grading and am looking forward to the shot choices that combo might give me.

Thanks again! And let me know the kind of stuff you work on... :)

Stan the Actor - Here is one of those rare "Stan the Man" moments where he got to smile between takes!

Though to be fair, I usually kept him on edge the entire shoot...

This is the real Stan - when people see the character he plays in this movie and then meet him afterwards - they sometime don't put it together that it's the same guy! A true professional and my good friend!

Thanks! Like all movies it's been a challenge to persevere! Two years on this one... time to get it out there and make another.

I'll be scouring the boards to see what's up with cameras and watching other people's work, and will keep posting as things of relevance come up!

I'll let you know when we screen and any success we have.

Thanks to DVX Users for all their support!

Would love to hear about the updates, especially first screening etc. Hopped onto your website and noticed that you have lots of reviews even before the film is out! Out of curiosity, was it hard to get reviewers to have a look at the film before it's premiered, or was it a plus? Ie they were keen to be getting first look?
