New to HVX200, HD/footage ?

Hello everyone,

While trying to get up-to-speed with this wonderful cam, I have a relatively basic question. While shooting in 720p|24p on some 16g P2s, how much footage would I be able to drop on a 500GB HD? If 16g holds roughly 40min, then I should be able to capture about 20 hours in theory right?rogar-Thinking(DBG

Yup...about 20, MAYBE 22.

a) 500GB / 16GB = 31.25 cards-full.
b) 40 minutes per card (depending on mode) <-- 720p/24pN
c) 40m x 31.25 = 1250 minutes.
d) 1250 / 60 = 20.833 hours.
e) .833 x 60 = ~ 49 minutes.
f) 20 hours and 49 minutes

That is ... if you have a 4GB card or the discipline to shoot only .25 of a card.
Shooting whole cards...

It's 31 cards full. 31 x 40 = 1240 / 60 = 20.666; .666x60 = 40 minutes.
So... 20 hours and 40 minutes.
