Today, I finally got FCP and I've taped a project on an hvx200a at 720/24pn.
Some of my footage is in P2CMS and the rest is already in FCP. When I look at my footage in the viewer i get my audio and video, but when I drop the clip I want into the timeline, I "see" the 4 channels of audio int the timeline , but i don't hear them.
I know there's something very important I've missed and I'll probably feel stupid when I get an answer back!

Thanks

Start by checking your audio playback settings. Go to Final Cut Pro > Audio/Video Settings, select the A/V Devices tab, in the Playback Output there is a drop down for audio. Try setting it to Built-in Output if it's not already. That should make the audio playback from your computer speakers. If it's set to something else like Firewire, then it'll play through the speakers of that device instead.

If that doesn't work, we'll go from there.

You nailed it! Thank you very much, i was pretty scared that i'd recorded something incorrectly or that there was some type of interference!
