New to DVX.

Hi.

This is my first post on the board. I just bought a DVX100 a few days ago, and I figured this would be a good place to learn stuff, because I'm not familiar with cameras this far on the prosumer side. Really my first question is how simple is the camera to use, and how close to 16mm does it look? Thanks.

:D

$3000.00 later:

"Does this thing take unleaded?"

Serious Gills; you have a wonderful tool in your hands but you're going to have to learn how it works. I suggest picking up 'Barry's DVX Guide' (Check the Articles thread) to get you started.

Alot of what you will need to know is more basic photography than the actual finer nuances of the DVX100. But in closing? It will get easier to use as you invest the time to learn it and yeah, it does have amagical 16mm vibe going on.

Re: New to DVX.

Checkout the clips section as well - There are some stunning videos from the DVX (When in the right hands)

LOL John ;)

Like John said Gills, you've got a camera that will satisfy all your needs, give or take.......

Re: New to DVX.

Hmmm....

Well, I haven't GOT the camera yet, and I guess I'm just nervous. Working with something like the DVX is like meeting a blind date. I've shot on a GL2 before but I figured the DVX was a while 'nother bag of bananas.

Don't be. Get Barry's book and you and the camera will have a very happy relationship. You will be pleased.  :)

I know man. I know. I was like DITTO DAMN IT; DITTO! DIDO IS A F***ING POP STAR! F***!

Re: New to DVX.

Okay, if you're going to raise "dido" complaints, can I add a couple?

It's "come on", not "comman".

And "voila", not "walla".

Okay, there, now that that's cleared up... ;D

Re: New to DVX.

I think I see "comman" used far more commonly for "common." It's a common occurrence.

How about:

"rediculous"

'defanite"

"nessisary"

"ideal" (for "idea")
