Hi All,

I've just uploaded some fairly substantial updates to LUTCalc to the online 'testing' version. Link here:

LUTCalc Testing

A couple of the new bits have needed some significant shuffling around under the hood, so I'm not quite ready to release it as an update and I'd really appreciate any feedback or problems which anyone might find.

The main new bits have come from user suggestions, so thanks for that.
* Above the Stop/IRE and LUT In/LUT Out charts there is now a button to 'Print Chart'. This should print out a page featuring the Stop/IRE chart followed by the IRE and 10-bit table and then under that a table of IRE and 10-bit values for each stop between -8 and +8. Finally at the bottom of the page is the LUT In/LUT Out chart. If you are on a Mac, the 'Print' window allows you to save or open the page as a pdf.
* I've added ProPhoto RGB colourspace options as a result of a request.
* As I mentioned in a thread about an MLUT I've made for using a Sony F5/F55/FS7 as a lightmeter, I recently got a DJI Osmo and have been trying to measure DJI D-Log. I've provisionally added the result from my tests to LUTCalc (as DJI D-Log).
* Someone asked me about adding larger options to the cube format 1D dimensions, so I have added 16384 steps (14-bit) as an option.
* A couple of seriously technical types pointed out that they found it a bit confusing looking for linear and conventional gamma options, so I have changed 'Linear/Rec709' to 'Linear / γ' throughout. Baby steps! ;-)
* Lastly, I had some feedback from someone after a Dolby PQ MLUT for use in camera with a PQ monitor. I don't know the details of in what way things seemed odd, but I suspect the usual range shenanigans. As such I've provisionally changed the way that PQ is scaled when generating a LUT. If anyone has access to a PQ monitor (I don't :-( ), I'd be REALLY keen to get info on this one.

Thanks,

Ben

Thanks Paul,

absolutely. I've just had to make a couple of changes to the inner workings, so thought I'd mention this as a beta to try to make sure I haven't done anything stupid before updating all the 'stable' version,

Ben
