So this Saturday I will be filming a shoot in LA. My friend (photo) is doing a shoot of a model for a couple hours and he wants me to do a behind the scenes video of him doing his work. There is going to be two photos, model, and her entourage. Its going to take place @ 2 different locations outdoors public area near major streets from about 9-2pm.

This is my first time doing something like this and I really don't know where to start. I guess I'm looking for some guidance on how to build a frame work or how I should go about this whole event.

Info if wondering
Gear: DVX100, UV lens, Tripod, Shotgun...
Weather: 70F & Sunny

mmm...behind the scenes seem pretty straight forward to me. Your capturing the essense of whats goin on. I'd say try to get as much personality from it as possible, meaning shoot in a way to really capture people's emtions (models subtle facial expressions, funny moments of the day, the connection between model and photographer ect.) So lots of close ups..and just shoot in a way that it'll be interesting overall...interesting camera angles and camera perspective. Play with the frame...think about all plains, foreground , mid, and back ground and place something on each.

Have fun with it...and try not 2 overthink it either.

edit: oh and sunny day...watch ur exposure...set ur zebras to about 80% or 90 so u dont blow anything out.

Its also going to be for somewhat marketing i guess, but like you said dont over think it is best. I was thinking the same a good amount of close ups, "connection between model and photographer" is key I think too. Also just shot in Sunny Florida the other week and setting zebras to about 80% or 90 was key.

Thanks for some good input

Ps. You music video is fresh!
