They are both sharp but the Tamron has this problem at 135mm with edges getting soft. Just the lens design that causes it. It's a great lens, but the Canon will probably perform more constantly in the long run.

So long as the Canon is in good shape, there's no question I'd rather have the Canon - nobody does a 70-200mm f/2.8 as well as Canon.
