New Switronix EX- L96 test

Is that the one with the wire so you can plug it into the DC in port and hang it off the back of a shoulder mount as a counter weight? Or is the wire a D tap? (Or both?)

Yes, it has a D tap in addition to the 12V power lead. Can power both the camera and an accessory like an on camera light in the same time. We have one in stock.

We also have a cable now to adapt the battery to the F3 XLR4 power connector.

I have the same battery that I mount on the shoulder bracket of my DVTech Multirig, and attach to my EX1 with a cable made by Dolgin. Great counterweight and lasts over 7 hours in real world use.

I was just going to post a message about my new Swittronix Series 7 EX-L96.

I"M PISSED! Specifically for this big show I had to do a 2 EX1 cam shoot of last night, I spent 230.00 at Adorama for a Switronix Series 7 EX-L96 battery, which is supposed to last 7 hours. I had fully charged the battery, then left it on a long time, then re-charged to sort of cycle it once. All seemed well. All charged up. One day later (after having the battery just sitting on my desk) I get to the show and the thing shows one bar of power! Then I try charging at the show, and my EX1 charger does an odd thing with the light I've never seen. It flashed quickly between yellow & green. So I don't know WTF is up. Maybe it just means the battery is charged, and maybe the 4 leds on the battery are glitched. Either way I could not trust the battery, but luckily I could plug into an outlet. But man... that's effed up. It's frickin' expensive to clothe and feed two EX1 cameras, and I expect the stuff to work. Back to Adorama for that thing...

Has anyone had any issues with these batteries? How does your EX1 charger act when you put the battery in? Do you just get the typical slow flashing yellow until it's charged? It seemed to act that way when I first charged it 2 days ago. I don't have anything D-tapped, the battery wasn't plugged into the camera, so it couldn't have been getting drained.

Any insight on this would be appreciated.
I'm just lucky I had my EX1 charger with me, and had access to an outlet! I would have blown a 1,000.00 gig due tho this battery. I hope it's just a faulty unit. But it does bring up the issue of quality control on these batteries.

Just FYI, you need to plug it's own cable back in in order for it to get charged. It is in the manual

Hmmm. A quick test confirms what you just said. I do get the slow blinking yellow light now. But I did have the thing fully charged, so what I wonder is what ran it down just sitting on my desk. Does the battery discharge if you don't have it plugged into itself?

It for sure can not self discharge that quickly. Must be something else. Try to retrace your steps to verify you did in fact recharged it (did all LEDs turn on?)

Yes. I will attempt a recharge, and leave the camera on for a few hours and see what's up. Thanks for the tip about the tip...
