new strung out video

Re: new strung out video

That's great, I've been thinking about getting into music videos and I've been watching a lot of profesionally done for mtv and such - then I start to think those are really good can the dvx create something like that? I've see so much stuff done by others, I start to think - maybe the dvx isn't good enough for music video's? ( but then I'm reminded by video's such as yours, rich lee's, mcdermitt's - they look great!

P.S. what were your settings. IE 24p

Re: new strung out video

Hey that's pretty cool man.

How did you get hooked up with a gig like this & what was the budget? I used to listen to these guys alot. I don't really know what you can do with this in terms of opinion. I am so used to seeing B&W videos, videos with a million SPFX or 500 extras from a cattle-call rockin' out or bling blingin' in the background.

Just focusing on a band with minimal filtration effects and stuff is actually nice and change once in awhile. Not many people do that now adays.

Re: new strung out video

Wow, Thats real impressive.

Alright, I got an ass load of questions for ya, sorry:

What shutter speed did you use? Was it tweaked in post (Ala Magic Bullet)? Was that a Century .7 wide angle? Which Editing Suite?

Good work man...

Re: new strung out video

-shutter speed was 1/120.
-no, it wasnt tweeked in post except with the contrast. and the text stuff was in after effects.
-i'm not sure what kind of wide angle it was, i think .7 is right.
-just edited it in premiere.

What did you use for lighting?

Re: new strung out video

we bought a couple work lights and 2 other kind of work lights from home depot and rented a couple of small lights, arri's i think or something. just needed to fill up that space with light.

Re: new strung out video

I'd really like to know how you got a job like this. Did you know someone who knew a guy or do you work for some company that specializes in music videos?

Trying to figure out how people get the cool stuff  :D

And what type of wide angle lens did you have on that?

Re: new strung out video

well, we contacted the band a long time ago about editing together some live footage for them. that never really panned out, but we kept in touch. so, when we knew they were coming into town we just asked if we could shoot a video for them, they were all into it and we did it. they were all very cool guys.
