new stedicam

I respect your creativity and entrepneurial spirit, Chris. Hey, don't knock it till you've tried it (either being an entrepeneur or his product).

Best of luck to you, its more than alot of us have done, sitting here reading the boards, but scared to grab a wrench and go to the hardware store.

Go man!!

Hey just to follow up on some of your questions. If you go to the new ebay ad or go to the sale page for the MachoGLide steadicam click here www.vtvideos.com/macho.php

That is the sale page off of my site. You will see some video there. Again nothing spectacular, but it works. I am always testing this thing and looking to improve it. So any comments you have or suggestions let me know, I am all ears. I am always looking to help other artists and filmmakers out.

I know it is still silly to look at, so I started painting it. Maybe taking the foam off and just leaving it on the handles. Of course black looks best.

The Patent? I got one of these patents that protects me for a year. I know the owner of filmties.com and he had his invention patented. Basically the formula on the way filmties works was patented. He pointed me in the right direction. But it is only for a year, and from this point, if I am serious about pursuing this rig, you hit up R&D and manufacturing depts. But who knows.

Also to clarify, the macho is over a year old, I looked into the patent before I listed it.

Peace,

Yeah the mafia one I did which I can't believe is already 5 years old did pretty well at fests. Played at the NY film festival. Goofy film. I actually just wrote it into a feature this past year along with some others scripts I got going. It's on the back burner right now.

My new one is called "CHI." A short film with two chics beatin the crap out of each other of something silly. Girls are crazy today, I grew up with 4 sisters and I was inspired by them to make that short. Still pushin and trying ya know.

What do you guys think of a mentorship program for kids or newbies who want to break in? I was thinking about doin it in my community. I substitute teach and a lot of High school kids are always asking me about making movies. So I thought, they have tutors for math and english right? Why not be a tutor for making films? Charge like 50-75 bucks an hour. No? For the absolute newbie, someone who has no clue.

Your thoughts?

that is not a steadicam, if htere is no bearing to absorb arm and hand movements, then it wont do the job

It will do the job

It will do the job

To the last quote, "it won't do the job?" I haven't gotten a complaint yet bro. So what does that mean? What can I tell ya, go spend the $300.00-400.00 at B&H on a real one.

Peace

wow, just saw the footage and laughed out loud. Hope i didnt wake anyone up.

I stand by what i previously stated.

I made a tiny steady handle , for about 3 bucks. it mainly allows 2 handed holding . just take a 4 inch 1/4 screw and a 4 inch L bracket and 1/4 inch nut.
the screw hangs down allowing 1 handed steading ( it rest against inside wrist) and the l bracket held on by the screw creates a handle for your other hand. i hot glued some padding 1/8 inch craft padding on the handle. really helps.
