can someone direct to me the forum that talked about the new sony shoulder cam that was hd/sd for 2 grandish? i did a search but nothing.

That camera may come from Sony's professional division, but it's feature set and performance are awfully consumerish.

Wouldn't it be funny to open up an HD1000U and find an HC7 inside, connected to the controls on the outer casing via LANC? :-Laugh(DBG)-1

Comical, yes, but -- dude, that'd be cool! It'd be like a "docking station"; when you need it tiny and handheld, pluck it from the dock and go. When you need the shoulder-mount stability and bigger form factor, plug it back in.

That'd actually be a cool idea...

If one of the majors (Panasonic, JVC, Sony or Canon) made a "convertible" like that, with the basic pro features (real manual control of iris, shutter, focus, gain), I'd give it a look.
