Banff is stunning. I went there years ago...

Yes. I guess there are not enough of Me out there as since Panasonic did not update the sensor for the CX370, it impacted my sales in a negative way. I am not interested in buying the camera unless I have to. I try to justify the Z200 but the viewfinder is a hangup for me. Then the viewfinder is taken away on the flagship signaling that social media news people are who they are courting. As viewfinders are so 2010... Whatever but it is frustrating no doubt. They don't update components unless it will impact sales. Eng/camcorders aren't in high demand any more so they stopped improving them.
I have zero complaints about the viewfinder on my Z200. Works perfectly.I try to justify the Z200 but the viewfinder is a hangup for me.
In this video taken at the BIRTV2025 Expo in China the camera is shown as the Z380. I wonder if the camera will be Z380 in Asia and Z300 in the USA.BINGO!!!!
And as I noted earlier, the model number is not "Z380".
Didn't people use those lcd loupes for c100? Zacuto and other brands make those loupe for many other cameras. I find the view finder only useful in bright sun light even then an Atomos with a hood is pretty good.I can't comment on the viewfinders on cameras like the Z280 etc as I've not used one, but as a general rule I really dislike such viewfinders. Usually they are far too small and are simply not compatible with my glasses (I'm short sighted and have astigmatism - I can see perfectly with glasses but can barely see at all without them.). The viewfinder on my Panasonic X2000, as well as my mirrorless camera, and my old film and digital SLRs are all very difficult for me to use compared to a decent size LCD screen. So I personally wouldn't miss the inclusion of a viewfinder on any such camera.
Interestingly, I have seen on a few occasions, some Z280 users with a loupe attached to the LCD screen. Further research suggests this was a custom made BBC solution.
Looks like Zacuto heard your cries.Yes, the lack of a VF nearly ruins this camera for me. I think there will be some 3rd party solutions . . . but not yet. This was the main reason I was a little relieved when the demo camera Sony wanted me to bring with me to Banff, Jasper, and Alaska wasn't ready in time. I was willing to substitute the Z300 for my Z200, but the lack of a viewfinder would have been a serious problem. A problem that will eventually be solved, but not soon enough for a 4-month road trip. The Z200 and A1 are serving me very well so far.
Currently in Watson Lake, Yukon. Thanks Starlink!!
don't hate the player, hate the gameCould be, but many times when companies haven't made enough they'll write 'sold out' on the front-end or keep 'preorder' or 'coming soon' up forever.
IMO, it would be very surprising they can't keep up with orders because so many people are buying it for a camcorder in 2025.
"Indeed, as pixel densities increase, and the price of realtime digital signal processing comes down, might single-chip video cameras someday muscle out three-chippers at the high end? Why not? Stranger things have happened!"
Adam Wilt was way ahead of his time. He was considered to be one of the industries tech gurus back then, as you say, many years ago.I love this quote from that article (which appears to be about 25 years old):
I still occasionally use his "field monitor" app for my iPhone or iPad - even though Sony has finally caught up with their own apps for wireless external monitoring and recording (these were specific to the mirrorless realm at one time).Adam Wilt was way ahead of his time.
