New slider from Edelkrone

LOL talk about a saturated market.

Waiting patiently for the next "think anybody will buy my diy slider?" thread - the answer is no ;)

edit: Upon further review, this particular slider does offer an innovative design!

LOL talk about a saturated market.

Except Edelkrone keeps on designing the same old product in a manner like no one else.

A $400 follow focus from Lanparte looks very much the same as a $3,400 follow focus by OConnor. The follow focus by Edelkrone is a brand new take & cheaper. Might not be for everyone, but no one should argue with variety. If it works best for you, then it is the best product for you.

Edelkrone is like Dr Pepper to the Coke vs Pepsi war.

Although, now I'm thinking about how it has been almost a decade since Mr Pibb went extinct. Mr Pibb was excellent & so much better than Dr Pepper. ... ... ... Sad face :-(

If it works as advertised I think its a fantastic take on the classic slider. I love the fact that you get double the travel out of a small slider.

I agree, the fact a motor is coming out too is interesting.

Just been this very evening building a rig for my GH3 based around the Pocket Rig and Focus One.

at least Edelkrone has a fresh design perspective on their gear. not many companies you can say that about.

Innovative design.

Love their PocketRig, & EVF Mount.

Already have 2' & 3' Kesslers, but might pickup Edelkrone's if it's quiet. Could be great for travel.

Works both on tripods and on ground
Thanks to the 4 height adjustable knobs under the slider plus it works on ground too. Slider Plus delivers 2 ft travel on tripod and 1 ft travel on ground.

That's sad if it can't travel 2 feet on the floor/table. i.e only 1 feet.

Think about how the thing works. For this to travel 2 feet on the floor/table, you need the base to be firmly hooked to the ground, and holding all the weight of the rig while the camera is on the other end. That is: yes, it will travel 2 feet on the floor... but only if you screw a quick release on the ground :)

(or if you carry a 2-feet-long piece of wood with a QR screwed in the center, which basically defeats the concept)

I just purchased their modula 5 plus focusone pro and some other parts. Tomorrow I ll try them with Gh2 and 100-300 for wildlife shooting. Parts are sturdy and easy to use, and I can use my new Ikan vx7 for easy focusing. I set and tried some combinations in my house tonight and I am very excited to test them in field tomorrow.
