GH3 New Sigma ART Micro 4/3 Lens Line-Up Looks Interesting

I am wondering what these new Sigma ART Micro 4/3 lenses are like?

Sure they're not speed freaks at f/2.8, but the physical design looks interesting, and they only cost about $200 each.

Do these lenses have manual focus or are they auto-everything ?

The art lenses have the exact same optics as the already released Sigma MFT lenses which are considerably less than $200. They are all auto. The only difference is the lens shell. If you want the same performance at a lower price check ebay for the 19mm and the 30mm. However, I'm not sure whether the 60mm will be released outside of the art line.

Interesting lenses, it's about time the format got cheaper. What I really want from sigma is a wide at least in the 12mm zone and a stabilized zoom.

These are actually very well made lenses that typically get decent praise from those who have them. Granted those who buy them tend to not have superior lenses to compare them to but even trade reviews have ranked them as pretty good. I know most M4/3 users are speed freaks when it comes to lenses but f2.8 is not all that bad and at the price this can be a very nice set of lenses. For $600.00 you get a nicely matched set of primes that cover some decent FOV ranges. Many forget that sometimes the lenses are about a certain look and not always about shooting in the dark without any other lights. As somebody myself who always tries to light what I shoot I have been intrigued by these lenses. There are those who are happy shooting with old FD 20mm and 28mm lenses at f2.8 so why should these Sigmas be shut out? I think they could have a look that kind of bridges the ultra sharp Lumix and Olympus lenses and the older adapted lenses.

Wish more pros would take a look at them and not just rule them out because they aren't super fast. It's funny we consider a zoom lens at f2.8 as super fast but poo poo on primes at f2.8.

True, but on m43 the speed of the lens also has a big influence on the look, since compared to FF a faster fstop is needed for similar DoF.
How nice the general rendering of images is with these new Sigmas is another point, because if I don´t get a faster lens compared to eg the Pana 12-35, I won´t a least a better picture.
Better as in less "clean" / videoish...

f/2.8 on a m4/3 lens is a very usable f-stop in terms of DOF, so my main interest is how these lenses perform wide open.
