New Short: "George Clooney"

Cool to see that there still is life to this thread :)
I wanna thank you all for the great feedback, and looking forward to posting
my next short wich I'm working on now.

And to Miniman: Hadde ikke hørt om det forumet før, så det skal helt klart skjekke ut :)

G'day Smettli,

great movie mate, really enjoyed it.
the humour was good too, made me laugh!
you obviously are talented & look forward to seeing your next short.....

Nice one!
what is causing the trembling when the guy is playing with his belly? i ve got that same problem on some footages. did you use the autofocus?
what soft did you use to edit?
i m waiting for your next short ....

I saw this a long time ago and never got to say anything, now that its bumped again I might as well say this: I loved it, this was one of my favorite shorts to come off this site and I've actually shown it to a few people as an example of a movie can be depressing and comedic at the same time. Great work!

Hey guys!

We shot it over a weekend(except for the last shot to the door, wich I forgot :))
Post production was pretty much done over the next weekend after shooting plus
a couple of evenings. I think we used 80% of the post production time to get the
soundtrack the way we wanted.

I'm not sure what's causing the trembling on the belly rub shot, but I always use
manual focus. For editing we used premiere, and we did some sound mixing in Cubase.

Nobody356: Extremely cool that your using our short as an example to state a point, hearing people say those kind of things is what makes it all worth it! :)

Cheers!

Smettli, I love watching your stuff! That was definitely gripping! If you get more light in the underexposed scenes you'll be golden - that and maybe build yourself a quick steady cam, nothing to high tech just something to smooth out a few of your follow shots.
Nice work and great sound track!

I think the bumpiness in most of the shots suited the film well...

Me and three other fellow students have now finished our second school project.

The short is about a danish George Clooney fanatic who hates his own looks and
is willing to risk his life in order to look like his big hero.
Unfortunately, time was against us this time and we were forced to film at another location than planned
and we couldn't get a hold of any lamps, so the lighting isn't the best :)
But any kind of feedback is highly appreciated

It was shot with a DVX-100 camera and edited with Premiere.
The movie has english subtitles.

The file is 50mb large, and is in quicktime-format.

i watched your last film i believe it was about a blind guy and his roommate no?

yet again two thumbs up. you guys are good. another entertaining, well made and self contained short that really puts a lot of others to shame for its clarity and storytelling technique. I did notice some similarities to your last film though with angles, ambience, music and editing strategy, but that's fine. Maybe next time be even more adventurous and try something more out there so to speak.

good work.

I downloaded your movie but I can't watch it. It gives me an error "-2048 not a movie file" message?

Really enjoyed your short. I've enjoyed everything you've posted so far.Oh apart from the pigeon hunter thing which I enjoyed for a bit and then buggered off to do something else.

Something that stuck in my mind was the first time the tv guy delivered the george clooney package the door. I wished you'd had the music coming from something diagetic like a ghetto blaster, i reckon that'd be funnier to here it fade as they walk down the stairs. I like your flat too, the corridor and door looks remind me of an NY apartment or something.

Nice one.

Nice short. I always think of Traffic when I hear that music.

Hey Smettli, did you use a wide angle? Which one? thanks

Gotta love the use of the original SH soundtrack there... I'm a fan of the game too, one of my favourites ever.

Most stuff I see from Nordic countries or Eastern European tend to be really cool. None of that useless waste of time to make things longer for no reason or shallow dialogue cos the scripter doesn't have a brain. And the ideas match the composition too.

Great job, give us some more.

Hehe, I guess we are a little childish, but I've always been a fan of provocative
and -on the edge humor.

To kubrick: I used the panasonic anamorphic adaptor which when all zoomed out it kinda works like a wide angle lens.

Cheers! :)

Loved the tone and story line.

Tech stuff could have been better, I imagine time and money were a factor. But the stroy telling was great.

Very cool.
