New Short: "George Clooney"

You can download sound effects from www.primesounds.com for a little amount of money. Each sound costs around 1 Euro, and then you'll have the rights to use them as much as you want.

Check it out, they have all kinds of sounds, foley, etc.

Godspeed You Black Emperor is great, especially the record 'Lift your skinny fists like antennas to the heavens'

Haha, "Gi meg mobilen din da!", jeg ler hver gang. Får litt sånn Falsk/Mathisen-feeling av det, hysterisk. Fint å få se noe fra nord, men siden ingen andre skjønner norsk her så tar jeg det på engelsk...

I believe you said that Blind Hatred was your first film, so this one must be your second or something. But already you've got your own style, both in visuals and sound. That's really amazing.
Personally i think Blind Hatred is the best one, but this one is really good too.
I'm waiting for more...

Cool movie Smettli, very dark, a nice satire on the shysters selling instant life solutions on the Shopping Channels.
It is a shame about the lighting when the salesman has dropped off the DIY plastic surgery kit. After that point the cinematography never quite gets back to the quality of the opening scenes.
By the way, I loved the pizza cutter - excellent choice of tool, it looks surgical and deadly.
I could have used a little more shock value when the cut-up face was revealed, it wasn't quite as horrific as it might have been when you see it for the first time in the bathroom. The face was a really good piece of make-up though when seen in more detail.
The film pays-off very nicely, having put your life down the toilet the saleman has the perfect solution, kill yourself. The way you handled this finale was very good also.
All in all this is an excellent movie for the short fiilm festival circuit, do you think you have any chance to reshoot the underexposed scenes to make the picture quality (which is very good at the start) more consistent?
In conclusion - excellent movie.

Hehe, kult å se norske folk på siden her ja :)
Terry, this is our second movie. I agree, Blind Hatred is my favorite one too.
I would like to see some of your work too, do you have anything I can download?

And to ziggerzag, it's cool that you took such notice of the pizzacutter, we
had a good laugh our self when we picked it out :)
Unfortunately, we won't be able to shoot the underexposed scenes over again
since we're moving out of the apartment we used as location within a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the comments guys, keep em' coming!

Sorry, for you not norwegian, i too hate it when i can't understand what people are writing... :)

Sweet, let me know when you get some work done with your DVX, I'd love to see it! Haven't checked out your homepage yet, but I'll take a look.

Wow!! That was an amazing short. I fast forward thru most of the stuff on this site, but this is the best thing I have ever seen on here. Great story telling! I was cracking up on second, then saying "Oh my God" the next second. If I was an investor, I would give you guys a budget for a feature. Great work.

Thanks jasonstogz! It's great you liked it that much,
though i don't think we're ready for a feature quite yet

You may never feel "ready" for a feature. When watching a lot of the Hollywood movies out there, it looks like they weren't ready. But seriously, great project. My wife loved it, and I emailed it to my friend as well. Seeing an original idea and voice is a rare thing. Again, congrats.

full feature

full feature

I know exactly what you mean, MANY full feature movies seem like they're made by crackheads... And although they may be technically impressive, the lack of good ideas is substancial, even in Hollywood (especially there  )

One beautiful day, we might embark upon a full feature. But until then, making short-films like this one is great practice!

Funny to hear that your wife loved it, but then again...
What woman wouldn't like a movie called George Clooney?

**** that was good. Really got me into a few moods. The end was brilliantly depressing.

For the record - they used the Brian eno song in the best part of 28 days later (in my opinion), where they're driving out of london, and you see the car is the only one on the highway for miles, and that song comes on. Even better is the water windmills are still working in the background. Amazing.

haha i really love these. blind hatred was cool too. especially the opening with all the tape recorders. i'm about to finish writing a short and was inspired by music from the salad fingers cartoon. did you also hear the music there cause i think i've heard music used in these toons on both your projects. anyways about this short i really liked the idea and how you made it into a story. i tought it was better worked out than blind hatred. sound effects and music choice also really helped. great job and keep em coming

wow, for what you had i thought that was extremely well done. The music was great, framing, CC everything. Well shot my man.

Great stuff. Music fit very well, cinematography actually looked really good IMO. You mentioned you didn't have any lights. Pretty impressive.

Har sett denne minst en million ganger, og den blir bare bedre og bedre for hver gang! Absolutt en av de beste amatørfilmene jeg har vært borti.

Oh, uh, english? Yeah, I've seen this at least a million times, and every time I watch it, it just keeps getting better and better! Absolutely one of the best indie shorts I've seen - ever.

Men du, har vi sett deg på www.norskfilmforum.com ?

this was a very, very good short. Very nice camera work and a professional look and feel to it in all areas. Some of the stuff felt a little stagey, but nothing to get in a fit over - I think the mood and storytelling overall far outweigh any issues. Good luck!

I love how much Clooney stands out in the opening scene.

I realize how this compliment will get lost in the mass of the others you have received, but in all honesty, this was a stupendous short.
