New sensor for the AF100?

Well that article is from may. Since then the gh1 sensor has been hacked. Maybe panasonic realized that means if they use the same sensor then AF100 will be hackable so they said screw this we need a new sensor otherwise our AF100 will take away sales from our highest camera lines cus the hacked AF100 will be equivalent to a Red One.

The firmware was hacked, not the sensor. Every piece of hardware runs on firmware, and every piece of firmware can be modified. Personally, I thought the idea of using a stills/hybrid designed sensor on a video camera was a silly one.

Baseless speculation.

The only facts at all are that in April Jan said it'd be using the GH1 sensor, and recently she said "actually, no, it isn't going to be the GH1's sensor after all." Any extrapolation of any "facts" further than that is groundless speculation.
