NEW Screengrabs - opinions on MagicBullet wanted

So, I did another set(don't worry, I won't keep doing this - possibly once more tops), anyways. I've redid some with different settings and also included the originals for a few.

Let me know what you think. I tried to lessen the softness a little and found an alternate look(Punchy) that I like.

looks way too soft. I have noticed with the dvx, magic bullet isnt neccesary...It makes it look worse IMO. Just use some color correction tools, not "film look" tools.

Yeah..those are osme sweet shots..I would definatly like to see the end result!! Please keep us posted...yeah iwould say it looks too soft unless you are going for that look...then it looks allright...I guess it would be better to see video to really tell

The soft kinda insinuates dreamy when you crank it up that far, nice work though! Looks great!

ok, i'm on a posting spree. it's a little too dreamy looking. i bet your un-corrected shots still look awesome out of the box. regardless, they are nice shots.
ps: is that the crow? I'll pay to see a crow movie shot on dvx. seriously.

I agree with the soft focas effect. I would scratch it. Can't wait to see it when it's done.

Yup, the softness causes me to think I need my eyes checked. But, that effect might be fine for some of your shots depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Also, the color is a bit too much on the yellow/orange side.

You previous works usually turn out well so I'm sure this one will be another winner.

Okay, I'm not as much aversed to the magic bullet effect as most people here- it can look pretty cool- but the repeated head shots of the guy benefitted the least from it, especially since they're not tremendously interesting to start off with.

I'm really partial to the tone of the sink shot, not sure why, it's just a really striking look. Well done there. And by FAR the most interesting still is the shot of him looking into the mirror- what was that, a split screen? Very very cool. I'd really like to see some footage, cause this looks like it'd be a fun short to watch.

the caps look cool but that much diffusion through the whole movie will make it look like a feature length dream sequence. I think that much soft focus should be used very sparingly. But it does look pretty cool. Keep it up.

Anyway, I love the look of the vid-caps. Since we have no frame of reference for where they are in the film, I believe all those caps are from one sequence. Most likely a dream sequence based on the visuals we're seeing. Looks really cool to me. Would love to know what settings in Magic Bullet you used. And was it Magic Bullet in AE? Or Magic Bullet Editors in an NLE?

I think the blood doesn't look good. It looks fake, too clear, like cherry syrup. There must be a better solution out there for fake blood.

I also agree with it being too soft.
