Rode is certainly an innovator. Time will tell if this is a serious solution to anything, but they are always coming up with something, in this case, an iPad option. I assume it would work with any USB device and if it is as good as their other NT mics, is quite a bargain.

Not exactly new and as most i-pads don't have USB it will involve a converter, samson have had a similar mic out for quite some time and you can get an XLR adaptor so you can use any mic as well.

Yes they mention needing the Apple media adapter kit which gives you several input options.
