New reel in progress

mmmm eye candy!

I really like the skateboarding / graffiti scenes. Also, how much of this was done in AE, vs a 3d program?
 
I like it. It moves well, it's not too long. Very pro.

The TNT blue ring thing looks like it was ripped right from an Andrew Kramer tutorial, but I'm the last one to be casting stones on that.

I like the animation at :21-:23
 
Can't view it again right now, but the skateboarder is what stands out to me. Was that a static shot, or moving? Did you create one big 'graffiti' file then use a mask as he went by? I bought it. Very nice.
 
great work, really like it!

to the point, it's shows you have a clear understanding of the software, and good creativity, and that's what a reel should show.

It would be nice to see it when it's finished and polished.

I would have to agree. The problem with Andrew's gifts to us is that he is too popular. I'v seen first hand, people being laughed out of an interview because they had something that was covered by one of his tutoris, not even a direct rip off, but just the same way of doing it.
I saw a earth zoom and the circle. I say take those out of a reel and the other stuff is gold.
 
Just my 2 cents. Lose the shots that were made very clearly from other people's tutorials. I'm sure you know to what I am referring.

People will and do recognize them and they weaken your reel.

Stick to your original work.

Probably the funniest thing I've read today.

VidCopilot really is a gift and a curse. And based on the hundreds of comments that pop up on his tuts and blogs, I'd say AE is VERY popular.
 
So I made a couple of updates to my reel. Took everyones advice and made that project more of my own. I'm still working on some new stuff and will continue to make changes to it for the next 2 weeks before graduation. Thanks for the feedback.

Looking better, but remeber, have your A stuff at the begining. Short and wow is better then a catalog.

I would add more 3D into that, your 3d stuff is good.

They'll have to pry the keyboard from my cold, dead hand before I stop using the SureTarget plugin in everything I do. :Drogar-Evil(DBG):
