New R&B Video - First Paying Music Video Gig

Hey all, this is my 2nd music video since I got my camera. My first music video was a freebee for a friend and that ended up getting me this low budget gig. Would appreciate any feedback as I'm here to learn. My emac screen seems to be on the blink and very dark, would appreciate your feedback on whether the video itself is too dark or if its just my screen. It looks just fine when the dvd plays on a 42" plasma but compressing for myspace was my first time and I'm not sure if I can get it any better.
Thanks All!

I just checked it out and it doesn't look too dark. I think the video was put together very well and I have seen much worse videos. However my only complaint is that i don't think the lighting was very dramatic except for in the scenes with the girl in the car. In almost every scene with the artist it looks like there is a 1:1 key to fill ratio. Other than that it was a good video.
What was the budget for the video ?

cool, i thought it was well done. i like the scenes with the girl in the limo and the one where she's in the water (? in a bikini). nicely done.

did u use a lens adapter or anything of the sort?

thanks guys

thanks guys

thanks for the feedback. I agree that the artist shots against the white bkgrd came out pretty boring. My orginal idea ( and what i did) was to shoot the singer wearing black against the white back drop and inter cut that with him wearing white against a black back drop.....in theory it was cool, but in reality it turned out that the black backdrop wasn't back enough......its was very milky and unuseable. Any comments or advice on the compression? thanks again.

nice job for a 2nd video.
It seems like you could bring up the contrast a little and make the colors pop a bit more. might liven the video up some.

thanks for the feedback

thanks for the feedback

thanks for the constructive feedback Noah, but yes we were all wondering the same thing during the shoot.........I could see how this would be your only comment after seeing some of the animals you've had to work with on your last video. Love your skills but hate the music, would love to see you do something less savage for a change. Peace!

playback equip was......

thanks for the feedback......we actually used the SUV & Limo CD players for those shots and switched between a giant ghetto blaster and a 25 dollar Walmart blaster for the rest.
I was alittle paranoid about it going out of sync but guess we lucked out.

I really love the feel of the shots inside the car. Very sleek. But I do feel that a lot of the scenes are a bit washed out. I'd love to see you make the blacks a lot more stark and maybe pull the highlights down just a little bit. Even just some basic contrast might help. I'm viewing on a 17" iMac G4 with the brightness at full.

Yeah I don't think he was singing to her lol! But looks good I think for the most parts the shots selected were good until the white background too much head space.

The black background has to be shot in an all black room with a black backdrop of some sort and it will come out professional everytime. Oh yeah to light black backdrop go to home depot and get a a clear ring light I think it's used for under sinks and what not.

Nice vid.
