New PIX-E recorders/monitors from Sound Devices

There is a way to get 10-bit 4K over HDMI 1.4a or 1.4b. We do so on the Odyssey7Q+.

I'm wondering if it will capture 10-bit 4K from HDMI, or just 8-bit. The former requires HDMI 2.0, the latter HDMI 1.4.

Since this thread started as a PIX-E thread, I'll make the assumption you are referring to the PIX-E5 ... yes, it can capture 4K, 10-bit over HDMI!

Thanks Paul. I assume the E7 will have at least the same level of capabilities, yes? I'm waiting for the E7 to come out (need the bigger screen due to poor eyesight).

For anybody using the Pix E5/E5H via HDMI, how is the general user experience regarding lag/delay?

Which seems pretty considerable. Looking to get the Pix as a shoulder mount monitor for my Scarlet with the idea to record 4K b-cam from an A7S.

Any user experience?

Has anybody used the PIX E5/7 to record 4K through HDMI on the Sony PMW F5 (with 4K upgrade) ? I know the F5/55 had issues with the HDMI outputting 23.98p.

Paul if you could enable 4K recording off the FS700 in just 23.98 and 25p that would be great

I know but if Atomos can do it then I'm sure Video Devices could do it too.
