The hybrid digital camera features a large one-inch 20.1MP MOS sensor that makes it powerful in low light and boasts improved color depth performance, all with a significant reduction in noise, even when shooting a high ISOs. The FZ1000 II also includes 4K video (in 3840×2160 30p or 24p in MP4) and 4K photo with 30fps in 8MP.

Key features:
1-inch 20.1MP MOS sensor
16x optical zoom Leica DC Vario-Elmarit f2.8-4.0 lens
5-axis hybrid optical image stabilizer
4K video capabilities (3840×2160 30p or 24p in MP4)
4K photo capabilities (30fps in 8MP)
High-speed OLED live view finder
3-inch, 180-degree rotating, and 270-degree tilting touch control display
Built-in Bluetooth and WiFi
The integrated Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens has a 16x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 25-400mm) with f2.8-f4.0 that has controlled and even defocus with no edge line.

A 5-axis hybrid Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) and Active Mode work together to combat hand shake and reduce blur while Zoom Compose Assist powers in during telephoto mode to help users track a subject when you may have lost sight — a useful tool for those capturing wildlife, sports, or quick-moving candids.

The Photo Style function has two new added modes: L.Monochrome and L.Monochrome D, which add the option to shoot dynamic monochrome images that retain all of the details of the photo, but emphasize highlights and shadows throughout the photo. The Post Focus function also lets you capture a photo, and then select the in-focus area afterwards, an especially handy function for macro photographers.

The LUMIX FZ1000 II is available for preorder for $897.99
I wonder if there will be a successor for the FZ2500?

ZS80
This pocket-sized point-and-shoot camera is designed with compactness and travel-readiness in mind. The 1/2.3-inch, 20.3MP MOS high-resolution sensor delivers powerful low-light performance and the 24mm ultra-wide angle 30x telephoto lens makes it a great companion to your travel gear list.

Key features:
1/2.3-inch 20.3MP MPS high-resolution sensor
24mm ultra-wide angle 30x Leica DC Vario-Elmar telephoto lens
Power Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS)
4K video capabilities in 3840×2160 at 30p
4K photo capabilities at 30fps in 8MP
0.21 viewfinder
3.0-inch 180-degree tiltable touch-control monitor
The camera’s 3.0-inch tiltable rear touch-control monitor gives users the option to transition from selfies to panoramas, and even in 4K (at 30fps in 8MP). The lens (a 35mm equivalent of 24-720mm) has a zoom range that can track and photograph many subjects, and Depth from Defocus (DFD) technology gives you the ability to capture high-speed burst shooting at 10fps (AFS) or 5fps (AFC) to photograph high-speed subjects.

The optical image stabilizer significantly reduces hand shake, especially when in telephoto mode, and the 4K video in 3840×2160 at 30p or 24p in MP4 lets you capture your most memorable experiences. An added Sequence Composition mode synthesizes multiple images (which were shot at a fixed frame rate with 4K Photo) into a stromotion image that’ll reflect your moving subject’s path.

Utilize the camera’s 3.0-inch touch and tilt display to capture the angle you want, and share using Bluetooth and WiFi for quick connectivity, no matter where you are.

The Panasonic LUMIX ZS80 is available for preorder for $447.99 in both black and silver

Why would one consider this over the Fujifilm XT-30?

Why would one consider this over the Fujifilm XT-30?

one might consider it because to put a powerzoom 25-400mm lens in front of the t30 would be impossible....yet with the t30's release, you could ask that question about all, or most new cameras, including the flurry of ff's. So in a sense , I agree, but the truth is, and most of us know this from waybacktime.....one camera ain't enough ! The question is ....is the new fz1000 cropping the sensor, or not ? If they didn't fix that one important part, a dozen touchscreens won't help. ps....for the last few months I've been using the $400 fz300, and the only thing , besides af that I don't like is lowlight...so that makes me interested. It's also quite a puzzle what pany is up to, leading to speculation they just divided the 1" sensor line and we'll be seeing an fz2500 update as well.

I'm not updated. What's so good or special about this Fujifilm XT-30 compared to GH5, Sony A7SII etc?

They all have their strengths and weaknesses.

The X-T30 is the new one on the block (coming in a few weeks), and packs very good value for the price.

But it's missing GH5's IBIS and Sony's full-frame sensor (if you care), etc. etc.

Give and take - every model, every year...but can't say much for $899.

Ok. So people are mainly going crazy for it because of very low price. This is a great price. I think even used A7S sell for more still? But A7S is full frame and amazing low light. But only 4K external I think. Is more footage available? The skins on the short film look smudged. Which is a look that makes me think DSLR. But don't know if it's the camera or artistic choice.

No one's going crazy for it. If you're referring to YouTube, many of them are actors and actresses. Knowledgeable, but they are running a business and cannot be boring with their content production.

Nevertheless more people would recommend the X-T3 with more important features for a bit more money.

The a7S and a7SII aren't too popular anymore. All Sony mirrorless' have been replaced by the a7III, besides the R models for some photographers.

The a7SIII is highly anticipated. This year, for sure.

I have an original FZ1000 and I don't see any specs here that look like an upgrade to the original. Although I am interested in getting a second one for multi-cam setups and the FZ2500 didn't offer enough for the extra money.

It's not 100% but it looks like the fz1000ii doesn't crop in 4k....a big letdown for the original. As well it's got touchscreen and it's half price of the sonys. We'll have to wait until alittle to get more info.

I am. First fuji's color science is far superb even better than olympus or panys, to me. Far better than sony. And second , it's smaller and cheaper. After 20 cameras I refuse to spend more than a grand for something I'll want to replace in two years and would be worth 1/3 of what I paid. And third, you get really close to the xt3's specs...close enough for me anyway, for 60% of the price. And fourth...it's just that thing like with women where you just know she's the one. And fifth...there's plenty of adapters in the wild, just like m43. And sixth...I prefer to stay away from fullframe. I think it's a losing proposition in terms of size and cost vs quality of the endresult.

You don't really get close to the specs/features besides AF and F-Log/Eterna.

10-bit and 400mbps and 4K/60p plus a better EVF, an extra dial (ISO), higher shutter speed, and longer 4K recording time (60p/24p 20/30 minutes vs. 10 minutes) with the option of adding a battery grip is worth the extra 500 bucks.

At the end of the day, you have to do what's best for you and $500 in savings is awesome because most people work hard for their money, but one would be making a big mistake purchasing the X-T30 for video with the X-T3 being available for its price (IMO).

Plus you can get the X-T3 on eBay for less, especially if you're planning on recycling it in 2 years.

thanks....I'll be waiting anyway for that gungrey model not out until like june, probably not buy until the end of the year, next time I go north...so I've got time to reconsider...but size and weight are crucial....and the price. Living in Mex, I try to keep a low profile. Lots of those things I'm not interested in, like the grip. Sadly I'm not in a position to try things like the additional res evf. Maybe it makes a difference ...maybe not. The 60p would be nice. The longer recordtime...I don't think I've ever shot a 10 minute clip since I used to record hdv on tape. Anyway....my $1k rule is god in my house....after dv and hdv, and fcp1,2,3,5, 7etc, . It's like all I'll have to do to get everything the xt3 offers is wait a few months , and then buy another camera....for a grand ! My philosophy is based on jean cocteau, who said cinema will only become a real artform when it's as cheap as paper and pen. And if things work out for the fz1000ii, like no crop, and better zooming, I could get both for alittle more than the xt3... on blackfriday. Always thinkin' ahead.
