New Panasonic 3D HD Camera p2/AVCHD

yawn... So Panasonic wants everyone to watch people's cat shots with a pair of glasses?

3D in feature films could work and has worked recently.. but this camera will only be used for broadcast TV at best.. The Biggest Loser in 3D would not be desirable.

AVC-Ultra was discussed on the European broadcast site. It's not a recording format for HDTV. It's a recording format for what comes *after* HDTV. So 1080/60p, or 2K, or 4:4:4, at 12-bit, etc.

It seems to be 60p/50p 10-bit 422 for broadcast, 24p 12-bit 444 for film production.

Bit rates of 200Mbit/s and over.

Going to need some big hard drives in the future then!
