Re: New Music video

Being the big HIP HOP fan that I am, I was really impressed with the BIG LOGIC "HIDE HIDE HO" video! That really took me by surprise. I have not seen a hip hop video shot with the DVX100 that good yet. I love how you added the animation so nobody can steal your work! I did that on my demo reel. As for the other videos: I wasn't feeling "Gigalo's get lonely" It looked to staged and the music wasn't hitting like the Hide Hide Ho song. By the way I love the crane shot in that video too! The "Someday" video had a nice concept and loved the colors. Did you play around with the color correction? One thing that to me took away from the video was the snap zooms. One or two may have been okay to get away with but there were several snap zooms in there that could have been left out. Two thumbs up for that Hip Hop video! You need to shop that bad boy if your not already! You mentioned that you used 25 5k lights, why 25? Not that there is anything wrong with that just wondering why so many. Wouldn't a few 1k's work for a night shot?

Re: New Music video

VictorE,

Let me remind you that you can enhance the look of your projects by color correction and filters so whether he shot it with a 100 or 100A he could always alter the look that could be completely different from the raw footage. I have a 100 and friend of mine has 100A and our footage looks the same. We just did a 2 camera shoot and there were no issues.

Re: New Music video

They're musicians, not actors. Robeditor provided a beautifully shot video for the musician.

Congrats, job well done.

Re: New Music video

Hey Rob, how did you create that animated man walking across the screen? I know you did it to protect your work. I like the concept, just wondering how you did it!

Re: New Music video

DVX100-

I paid a guy to come up with the art work which was done in shake, then we just export the work out to a QT file. Layed it on top of the video.

The funny thing about that is the MTV and others like it. And it was just use to protect the video. What can I say it.. luck and thank you for the replies.

Re: New Music video

hey rob, great work! you said you shot in f4 default. so are you saying you shot in 60i or did you change it to 30p, 24p, or 24p advanced and left all the other settings at default? thanks...

Re: New Music video

So are we gonna see that video get some airplay on Mtv? How may hours did you log editing that video? How long to shoot? Yea the animation kinda adds another element to the video! LOL! Cool idea though!

Re: New Music video

Dvx100-

I hope to see some air play with this video. it took about three days for a ruff cut then two more for final.

I'm right now looking for more artist to do.. Keep in mind that video was done for free.

Re: New Music video

Boo-

Nope I just was going through the setting of the camera. I wanwdt to see how it would hold up and I think it did well. Now that I know what the setting can do I will shot in those settings sometime.

I'm working on a project now that will be shot only in F6 setting.
