New Music Video using the DVX100b

--How many day of shooting?
About 5 days of shooting. But mostly because of magic hour in the woods did not last so long!

--Nice job. How many days of shooting? What software for speed ramps?
I used acobe premiere. Nothing special. The hardest part was getting lip sync durring speed ramps. I just cut the music to diff speeds for the singer to sing with.

--Great job, what did you use to create the rays of light?

--Did you use an adaptor?
No I did not. I wish that I had one!! All that I do when I want low depth of field is. Back the camera up from the object or talent, get my iris open as much as possible. This video does not have as much low depth of field as I would like.

car-crash shot? was that stock footage?! i hope so for the girl's sake!!!


my thoughts:

might have looked better if the singer had been more into what he was doing in the narritive, rather than singing into camera with same expression, get me? so have him unaware of camera and have him act whilst singing the words, just might have added more punch, in my opinion anyway.

with a dof adapter u would be dangerous.

great work. i wish i could do half that stuff half as well.
 
That looks so cool. I love the song too actually. So nicely edited. Sharp detailed stuff. And very imagintive....

Thats a great looking video. Can you talk a little bit about the speed ramps please? Did you change the audio speed in advance to shooting? And how do you know how much to speed it up, slow it down in relation to the video speed?

There was one shot where the talent was looking at the camera and not paying attention to the road as he drove down the highway. Was this car on a trailer and being pulled so he didnt have to actually drive the car? did you have to drag all that bedroom stuff out into the woods everyday you shot those scenes or did you do all those shots in one day?
 
very cool vid, Joe Hedges use to ride the school bus with me. and I like how you put his sister in the vid too. I'm glad that he's still doing his music, very nice work Eric.

Car Crash

The Car crash was an after effects composite. The girl acting like she was hit with a blue screen in the window. and then an aproching car. If you pay close attention. The person hitting her is her also.
