New Music Video - The Dollyrots

Whoever DP'd that is brilliant! Lighting was beautiful. I know it's overused, but that really had that 35mm look to it. I'm impressed!

I would hope it was shot on the DVX since it's in the DVX footage forum. Also, what kind of color correction was applied? Any before and after stills. How about the soft edge look? What was used to achieve that?

Very nice work. And I agree it was free from a DV feel which isn't as easy as it should be to accomplish. Crongrats. It was a very fun vid.

Nice work.

How long have you been doing videos. I enjoyed it. Very well done. I hope to be as good as you some day! I hope you were paid handsomely, If I may ask, how much? Some day I wanna be just like you! :-)

That video looked great, cinematography was really good. The only thing that I didn't like much was the fast motion shots, but that's just my opinion. Otherwise great clip.

Well done. The overall production is very nice. Lots of nice shots and compositions. The editing is clean.

So give us some more background info. What equipment did you use? What settings were you using for the storyline shots vs. the band coverage?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the feedback. I DP'd this vid. This was our first one.

As far as the technical details go, this was a pretty simple shoot. We shot the video pretty much all on a 100A. During the performance we had a 100 as well as our B-cam. Our light package was very small. We had a couple tweenies (650w fresnels), and a few grip things.

The edit was done on FCP 4.5. The color correction was as well, using all the standard tools in the program.

Thanks
Neal

well done.

if you did not use a lens adapter did you use a blur matte to create an illusion of hard focus?

thanks everyone!

Oynk - Yeah we did use mattes often to get the look we wanted.

DVX100Shooter - All the CC was done through the various CC tools in final cut. The three-way color corrector was the one we used the most. But, we also used to varying degrees alot of the other tools (the names of which escape me at the moment) to fine-tune things. We didn't use any other plugins/software.
