HI everyone,

I Recently DPed this music video:

It's the second time this team and me are working on a music video for this artist.

There is a lot of stop motion animation in it. All the stop motion sequences have been shot with the 5D MKII on still mode, and all the live action sequences originated form the FS100.

Let me know what do you think!

Nice video. I like that you comped live action shots with the stop motion elements.

Regarding framerate. so many people make that mistake of thinking that 30p is better for tv. 3:2 pull down has been working just fine for years when broadcasting movies. I always try to talk my way out of 30p unless they have a better reason.

Thank you all for your comments.

The profile I used was a modified version of the Abel's 5d tech. I modified it a bit to protect the highlight better and to flatten it a bit, removing a bit of contrast. It's the better way I have found to match the 5d ( in which we used the technicolor profile).

Regarding framerate, yes I am completely aware that you can broadcast 24p. But you know what? I like 30p! I like the little added smoothness over 24p while retaining the film look. And since we were going for 10 fps in stop motion, the math were easier to do.

So when the producers asked for 30p, it was a no brainer.
