i lost count at like 40 my 2007 resume is like 4 pages long and 90% is hvx. but i have the new sony ex and iam red num 1200 and i have the letus with the corrective lens comming so iam looking to advance my self and my gear.

i also got the new litepanel ringlite and the zacuto hand held system. I love both of these items. anybody have any experience with the new jvc 17 inch hd monitor?

yA DAN IS THE MAN. he is a great editor and a great director. because he is so concious of the shots and camera movement.

i just got off a shoot with him today and iam actually gonna start sitting in on his editing sessions so i can pick up a couple of tools for the trade.

and the BEST PART IS that he is gonna CUT MY REEL, music video style to a radiohead tune for free. lovin it.

i dont know, ask dan. but i do know that dan is the fastest editor ive heard of. he'll have a rough cut by the next day.

as far as settings go, we had 3 cameras shooting at once. all redrocked out, one was always on jib, one i operated on dolly and the third was used strictly for pickups. and small inserts etc.

as far as my in camera settings, I had a detail and detail coring at +4, cine V, Cine style, -4 master ped, chroma +2. but i think at night i switched to cine D and brough up the master ped because i wanted to give dan as much detail as possible to work with. I also know that he is a great color correcter so he can crush the blacks in post, but once blacks are crushed in camera the detail is lost FOREVER. and EVER.

damn that's RR? Sweetness. Hmm interesting about the + ped for night shots and cineD. I'll have to try that next time.

I normally have a rough edit in a day or two but that's only because I have a fulltime day job and once I start editing I get addicted to it :D

Very, very nice work.
Unusual setting for this type of band/music - but it works. Refreshing!

Only one minor dislike. A couple of the shots have a soft, diffuse glow thing going - seems inconsistent with the rest of the video stylewise.

soft diffuse glow? i do not know what ur talking about. can u specify the minutes. thanks

First of all, I'm nitpicking - I have a problem with giving all positive feedback, had to find something. :)

It's mainly the WA shots of the guitarist in front of the captains bridge.
The other imagery is so CRISP, nice subject separation and POP - but these shots seem sorta soft and mushy. Sure, this is partially attributed to the deeper depth of field of the WA-lens but some of it looks like it was hit by a "wedding preset" in post.

Again, nitpicking. Beautiful work.

its a little soft because we have a 14mm lens on. and as everyone knows the wider you get the softer your edges are.
