New Mounting Arm

What you guys think of it as an mounting arm for the O7Q (tripod & hand held)

This seems like it would mount very well with the O7Q and might even be overkill given the 7q is so light compared to this arms weight load. Seems like an item to buy, try and worst case hold onto until you find a better use for it.

Any time the 'tip' is a single screw thread then the thing will just come unwound with a small tap.. hmmm

In addition to the Matthews solution, Bright Tangerine introduced a support arm at NAB. One interesting aspect of the BT solution is a clutching mechanism designed so that the monitor can be adjusted with one hand and will hold in place after the adjustment.

If you add a compression washer (aka a wave washer) to the bolt screwing into the back of the monitor then the additional angular friction will do a lot to keep the monitor from unscrewing. The washer basically fights against allowing the threads to unscrew by applying lateral pressure.

seems nice, but quite pricey..
