Wow.. Seems like this is the topic to scream and be heard by nobody. :D

potiglo, Gospel film person? Say what? And don't you feel like you might want to focus a little bit. Especially as some are lifetime jobs to master. Personally I started off to edit, now I'm forced to shoot too. But I still feel like I should focus at editing, it's what I'm best at (and I feel like others are neglecting) and also to make sure I do finish something, eventually.. :P
Btw, is there something special about movie making in Nigeria. Honestly about the only thing I can imagine is it being a nightmare for you to actually buy second hand gear. I reckon about 99% of the people figure, yeah...I'll my gear to Nigeria, not...

I call myself an aspiring cinematographer (VA, USA). I used to be a serious photographer (never a pro in a sense that I had never had a goal of making serious money with photography, although I did). But when DSLR manufacturers started adding more and more video capabilities, I switched almost 100% to video. Guess what? Next move I did was to get a real video camera (and now I have several of them). My primary motivation is creativity - again, no intention to become a real pro (but would not mind to make some money if and when I can). Happy shooting to all of you!

Big DVX user since 2004, and will be buying my own HPX model in the near future. This is a fantastic site, regardless of whether you own a Panasonic or not. Looking forward to participating on the boards.

London based shooter/indie filmmaker. Had a profile back in 2010, but for some reason it got lost somewhere so I created a new one. Cheers

Hello from Far West Texas,
If there are any members of dvxusers living in the Big Bend area, please drop me a note. I'm always interested in what's going on in this corner of the planet.

Hey! I'm Bubba, I've been on this site for the past couple of days doing camera research, and have found it super helpful. Thanks for creating this community!

First post here, long time DP/Editor.

I've been a shooter/editor since 1992, using full size ENG cameras. In 2010, I bought my first DSLR, a Canon T2i, and promptly hacked it with magic lantern. I love the look, but not the compression and the downscaling on recording. So many workarounds for the desired outcome.

I have begun to miss the simplicity with which "real" video cameras work. The ability to judge critical focus is not a luxury, and the T2i just leaves too great a margin for error.

I'm in the market for a used AF100 w some decent glass/accessories. I've tried ebay, adorama, dvcreator.net and BandH. There are a few options there, but not many.

Do you guys have any other vendors you'd trust buying used gear from?

Thanks in advance for your support,
Todd
