New MBP and FCS

Does anybody know if the new MBP 13" will support FCS? Also, does FCE support P2? What are the pros and cons of FCS compared to FCE for the MBP?

Motion and Color won't run optimally due to GPU issues. Actually Color won't work at all.

But FCP should be fine.

FCE does not support p2 because FCP installs the DVCProHD codec.

Thanks for the reply. If I'm not mistaken Color and Motion requires either ATI or NVIDIA card inside. The MBP 13" has Intel. Is it possible to install a new graphics card inside the 13" that will support those applications?

Sorry, but no. You're stuck with the graphics card that it leaves the factory with. That's one of the downsides to using laptops.

Haven't tried Color, but I use Motion quite often. I haven't done anything super-crazy with it on my new MPB, but by no means would I say that it's un-use-ably slow.

What about rendering on the 13" MBP? Will it be slower than the 15"? Do I have to wait all day?

Rendering, of course, depends on a lot of things. My new 13" MBP is maybe 85% as fast on the renders as my i7 27" iMac. Not worth the price bump to the next model, IMHO. Max out the ram, use a fast external HDD, and you'll be in good shape.

I'm actually planning to max out mine to 8GB. I recently purchased a G Drive mini 500GB hard drive. Before I increase the RAM what should I do? Anything special?
