New Mattebox 16x9 ready

Re: New Mattebox 16x9 ready

is that link for a mattebox as the title says? It took me to a free Adobe trial page... ?

Re: New Mattebox 16x9 ready

That's the same setup as the 411-53, the main difference being the back mounting hole is square to fit the anamorphic adaptor, as opposed to the round hole in the 411-53. I have the normal 411-53, and it's a solid, very-well made rig.

Re: New Mattebox 16x9 ready

Kai, that's cool. Does that mean you don't have to cut up the anamorphic lens shade to make it work anymore or is that still an issue?

Re: New Mattebox 16x9 ready

yes, the lens still needs to be modified a bit. I think Safer Seas charges about 200 to do the mod.

Re: New Mattebox 16x9 ready

great.. Bought my cam there.. I also spoke to Greg at Cintactics and they are working on there 16:9 mattebox and will be ready in about 2 or 3 months.. The great thing is it will cost a little bit more than the one they have now.. Like under a hundred bucks more.. Way cheaper than $1,425.00

I'm confused. I went to http://www.16x9inc.com/chrosziel/new07_sun_411-53.shtml
(note that this is a "sunshade", not a matte box) and while the item number is 411-53 (without the PK), it seems to be as described in the first link in this thread. No mention of Panny hood mod, either.
