New Magic Bullet Editors 2, will new owners of DVX100A get it?

I just saw on the Red Giant Software website that they'll be releasing a new Magic Bullet Editors 2, shipping Oct.9th. On the site, it says that DVX100 customers can upgrade for $100... My question is, do you guys think that version 2 will make it's way into the bundle? I'm on the verge of purchasing the DVX100A (and also debating if I should wait for the DVX100B) but I can stand to wait a lil if I'll be able to get ver.2 without having to pay the extra $100...

Also - do you guys think Panasonic will keep the promotion on the DVX100A past it's current Oct.31st deadline? Cause we all know that its constantly been extended...

Any comments from Jan?

Attention Panasonic DVX100 customers. Your bundled Magic Bullet qualifies for this upgrade!

NOTE: Any purchases made after July 1st are entitled to a free upgrade. To receive your upgrade send an email to sales with your order number.

From the source

And I am going to get the 100b

Where did you find this? I couldnt find it the magic bullet site

I sent an e-mail to Red Giant giving them my B&H order # and date I bought the camera (July 7,2005) and this is the reply I got. . .so It doesn't look like we get the upgrade of we got the bundle.

Dear Jamie,

Sorry, the Panasonic DVX100 bundled software does not qualify for the free
upgrade. You can purchase the upgrade for $149 (boxed) or $99 (download).
The upgrades will be available for purchase before the end of this week.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I got the same reply. I'm going to e-mail them with the link and ask if we're missing something. It clearly says that if we own dvx100a (purchased after july) we qualify for the free upgrade. If this isn't the case, they shouldn't toy with us and should take of the misleading ad.

forget it...they just fixed their site. we don't qualify for the update because our software was bundled with the dvx.

I think the free upgrade is for people who purchased magic bullet after July 1st.
If you got the free copy of magic bullet then you need to purchase the upgrade.

Makes sense to me.

This is interesting. I don't know. I don't even use it anymore. Kind of burned out on the whole MB Fab. What does interest me is specifically is:

Compression Correction™ engine (who says My Nvidia QuadraFX Video Card isn't cool?)

I would, but I would be afraid you would ban me...

Seriously, I think that this new version of MB is going to be great. One of the biggest problems with MB isn't so much that everything ends up looking the same, but that the real time previewing is complete crap. It is impossible to get a feel for what things will look like. Now, especially if you have a good video card, you're going to be set up.

The compression correction thing looks really interesting. Is it worth $100?

I don't know... I really want to buy a copy of particle illusion right now, but thats $400.

My Video Card is rockin' so what say you? If I can play Battlefield 2 flawless; I'm stoked. IN fact; there isn't a Video PC Game released today I can't skull.

The site says that those who got MBEditors as bundled software do not qualify for the upgrade. :(

Those that got it bundled with the DVX are qualified, I am pretty sure. The site has a special note.

I don't get why everyone is so hooked on BF2. Ravenshield is where its at and where it will always be...

Those that got MB free with the DVX qualify for the $99 upgrade.

I have particle illusion demo and I can't figure out what to do with it, then again, I know nothing about effects at all.

I just tried out Version 2.. and the video card makes a big difference... I have a 7800 GTX Nvidia and it rendered out a 15 second clip in 30 seconds.... so Version 2 looks like its taping the video card power alot more than version 1.

Jarred,
It actually sped up renders and not just realtime previews? That would be cool!

Let us know.
