New Macs

Soo, cool... I'm still going to pump my dual G4 for another year or so, My next mac will be an intel based... But those babies are giving me a good reason to work my ass off this next month...

i hope soon. had such a great time with all of you last visit! i have to go to chicago until the 1st of november... so maybe after that- TELL JARRED('cause i'd like to go!) :)
 
getting back to the new stuff... It doesn't look like Aperture is actually going to replace PhotoShop. From what I can tell, it doesn't have layers and compositing capablities. Its just the ultimate RAW image handling software. The two should work together to be the an incredibly powerful imaging suite. One of the problems with PhotoShop is that is was basically designed long before the still digital workflow was established. Aperture will take care of that. I can't wait! And just in time with the new lower priced 23" monitors. One for PS, one for Aperture. 6-8 weeks before it ships is going to seem like eternity...
 
I wouldnt buy the Dual Core PowerMac...looks enticing but the Dual core Intels due out in May or June will kick this machines ass!! this was the final chipset from IBM from what I understand so this may be your last chance to use the old PPC chips in a PowerMac...goodbye PPC
