New MacBook Pro?

I have some leftover money from a job that I am allowed to allocate to equipment.

I have been thinking about upgrading my MacBook Pro to a new unibody version. I currently have a 2.2 GHZ with 128 MB of VRAM 3 GB of RAM. Do you think the new 2.53 with 512 of VRAM would offer me much of a performance boost? I can't find many Final Cut Pro benchmarks relating to the new models.

Has anybody switched from a similar model?

I suppose if it doesn't offer much more of a performance boost, I could wait a bit and get a new Canon 5D MK II body.
 
What are you editing? HD, HDV, SD? If you are not having any issues with your current system, why not just save up for that Canon DSLR?

Of course if you are doing a lot of motion graphics in AE or Motion, maybe the new MBP would be a big help. Hard to say without knowing what you are working on...
